"As I write this final introduction for our weekly news, my heart is full, full of gratitude, a touch of sadness, and deep thankfulness for all we have shared. This week has been one of goodbyes, memories, and so many kind words. We have been so moved by your generosity, for the beautiful cards, thoughtful gifts, and words of encouragement that you’ve shared with all three of us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Serving as Rector among the Fen Edge Churches has been one of the greatest privileges of my ministry. Over these six years, I’ve had the deep joy of standing alongside so many of you in the beauty of baptisms and weddings, in the tenderness of funerals, and in moments of laughter and faith, of grief and celebration. Thank you for allowing me to share those sacred times with you.
When we first arrived, Noah was a nine-year-old in primary school; now he’s preparing for his GCSEs (and, as you can see in the photos above, is now officially taller than me!). You have played such an important part in shaping, supporting, and cheering him on and we will always be thankful for the love you’ve shown our whole family.
As I look back, I’m overwhelmed by all that God has done among us: through the challenges of the pandemic, the birth of Little Saints, Youth Space, and Coffee Ark, and so much more. None of these things have ever been about one person, but about the faithfulness, creativity, and kindness of this church family working together in Christ’s strength.
Thank you, truly and deeply, for every kindness, every prayer, and every shared moment of ministry. You have been a gift and a joy. I leave with deep affection, mixed emotions, and complete trust that God will continue to bless, guide, and grow the Fen Edge Churches in all that lies ahead.
With huge blessings and heartfelt thanks,
Becky"
