Village Hall
About the Hall
The new Glatton Village Hall, officially opened on 24 May 2026, marks a proud milestone for the Cambridgeshire village. The project replaced the original Nissan‑hut‑style hall that first opened on the same date 74 years earlier, creating a symbolic link between generations. After a 16‑month rebuild, the new hall stands as a modern, insulated, and energy‑efficient community venue designed to serve Glatton and its neighbouring parishes for decades to come.
The £450,000 redevelopment was entirely community‑driven, with residents rallying together through events, donations, and creative initiatives such as the Buy‑a‑Brick scheme to raise the necessary funds. The hall blends contemporary architecture with traditional village character, sitting harmoniously opposite the Grade I‑listed church. The building features sustainable materials, improved accessibility, and flexible spaces for everything from coffee mornings and yoga classes to parish meetings and celebrations. It now acts as the heart of village life, a testament to local determination and shared vision for a greener, more inclusive future

Special Thanks
The trustees of Glatton Village Hall would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the £450,000 rebuild possible. We are deeply grateful for the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund, guided by Tia Haliday, whose £200,000 grant formed the foundation of the project, along with vital contributions from the Cambridgeshire Capital Fund (£40,000), the Garfield Weston Foundation (£40,000), Huntingdonshire District Council (£49,750), the Bernard Sunley Foundation (£10,000), and Glatton Parish Council (£12,000). We also celebrate the extraordinary efforts of Glatton’s residents, who together raised over £95,000 through Buy‑a‑Brick, sponsored events, and countless acts of generosity, supported by remarkable hands‑on help from volunteers who painted, fitted, landscaped, donated land, and navigated the legal work. This new hall stands as a testament to the determination, generosity, and community spirit that define Glatton — a building created by the village, for the village, and for generations to come.
